Purpose of the GNregistry
GNregistry is a non-profit
organization made up of the registered owners of cars known as the
Buick Turbo Regals. The purpose of this organization and registry is
to encourage the preservation and identification of this group of
automobiles, which were manufactured and sold between 1978 and 1987 by the Buick Motor
Division of General Motors. While the cars of interest are often
collectively called “Turbo Regals”, most of these motor vehicles
were offered to the public as the Buick Grand National and known
best by that name (and often, in short, simply the GN).
The registry’s purpose is to develop as a force that will
help preserve these very special cars which will be
accomplished as the Specific
Goals of this registry are
achieved.
While
there are a number of organizations and web sites devoted to these
same cars, most of the web sites and organizations are concerned
primarily with enhancing the vehicles’ acceleration performance,
not directed specifically toward maintaining and enhancing their
long term value. Yet a number of these organizations have already
contributed enormously to preserving interest and value in these
cars. Thus, the GNregistry will endeavor to establish and maintain
good and mutually beneficial Relationships
with organizations that have focused on these cars in
the past. Similarly, numerous vendors of specialized parts and
services have directed their efforts on the GN class and this too
helped preserve these cars and their value as important pieces of
American automotive
History. The
GNregistry will strongly support such vendors, and hope that they in
turn will help sponsor our efforts to preserve the GN class of
automobiles.
Membership Benefits
There
are specific, tangible benefits that accrue to owners of the
vehicles that are listed in GNregistry. The most important of these
benefits is provided FREE to all owners who complete the
registration form (Part I is required and Part II is Optional). This registration
provides independent identification and preservation of the history
of your collector automobile by other car enthusiasts, which will
help retain and, potentially, increase its value. In addition, for
those who go on to document their vehicle’s status via completion
of Part II registration:
- We provide a fully automated
registration process and upload mechanism to view your specific
information on the members page which includes pictures of your car,
a detailed description of options and modifications.
- Eligibility for
GNregistry’s prestigious
Awards
developed specifically for
these particular cars.
- An individualized
Certificate of Collector Status
(this is optional
and is not required to become a member) suitable for framing, which includes GNregistry's serial
number for your car and also a
Window Sticker
specifying that your car is a documented
collector vehicle listed in GNregistry, giving the web site
address.
